 PARC DE LESSEPS

THE HISTORY

In the heart of Berry, Le Parc de Lesseps offers guest rooms and an independent guesthouse within a 20ha English-style park to be discovered on foot, by bike or by boat (in summer) and offers incredible spaces for meditation, but also a pétanque track for moments of conviviality.

If you love nature, whether to rest, read, meditate, play sports or party, Parc de Lesseps will share its magic with you. In addition to your room, you can enjoy the common areas : lounges, games room, gym located between the Castle and the Presbytery.

After running a bar-restaurant in the heart of Paris, Marie, your host, leaves everything to live her dream of nature and spirituality. She occupies the first floor of the Castle, so she will be present to meet the needs of travelers. In addition to welcoming you, she takes care of the maintenance of the estate and its four-legged inhabitants! She will happily share her experiences with you.

Prominent among its projects is the renovation of the outbuildings to accommodate an  artists' residence and a second gîte .

The park offers:

  • A family suite for 4 people

  • Two suites for 2 people

  • A guesthouse for 11-15 people

THE PARK & ITS HISTORY

Ferdinand de Lesseps (1805-1894), French diplomat, is known for building the Suez Canal.

In the park, we find two nods to this work: a small canal fed by the old trough which has now become a wash house and the statue L'Immortalité, bronze signed F. Barbedienne and presented for the inauguration of the Suez Canal.

Ferdinand de Lesseps had the Castle built in 1865 for his son Charles de Lesseps with whom he worked.

He would like an English-style park to enjoy the beauty of nature.
